Concrete jungle

This chimp I am about to describe had a very sad life orbiting the earth for 65 years before it landed in a deserted city and died.

A poor little chimp sat in a space shuttle in the darkness of space with only the stars and the light of the controls, that he dare not touch, to see by. The deep dreaded darkness of space has been haunting him for years. Finally after the long wait the little red button turned green it is finally time for him to return home. The green button is a meadow of grass. The dark stillness is as black as midnight as the shuttle rockets down towards the earth. He felt like a fish out of water rushing down towards the earth.

The chimp felt a shiver of exitement as he shot through space like a bolt of lighting. The dark blue earth crept closer and closer at the speed of sound, it was a shadow of blueness. Crash. The chimp feels a judder as the shuttle hit the earth. It was 3 o'clock when the shuttle landed. Blinking in the sudden light he sees his surroundings it is all a kettle of fish.

He was surprised at his surroundings everything was old and grey. The cold airy feeling sent a shiver down his spine. His heart broke as he stared at the emptiness of the earth. He slowly walked into the shuttle sat down and put his head in his hands. The tall grey buildings were as deserted as a desert. The windows were black spots on the sun. It was raining cats and dogs as the chimp stared at the concrete jungle.

As he stared, in fear and sadness, a tear trickled down his cheek, he felt like lying down in the middle of the concrete jungle forever.
